Fast-rising British star Owen Cooper has created history. At the BAFTA TV Awards, he won the Supporting Actor award for his role in Adolescence.
The latest win is another feather in the cap of the teen actor.
Previously, for his screen role, Cooper won all four top American TV awards: Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice and SAG Award.
Now, he has a BAFTA.
In his acceptance speech, the actor exudes confidence as he says, “Wow, it’s pretty overwhelming, to be honest.”
“A year ago this time last year I was presenting an award, and now I’m collecting an award, so it’s a little crazy.”
He adds, “Thank you to BAFTA. Thank you to the ‘Teenagers’ family – and they’re family now.”
“In the words of John Lennon, you won’t get anything unless you have the vision to imagine it.”
Concluding his speech, Cooper listed three things needed to succeed in life: “One, a passion. Two, a dream. And three, the Beatles.”
