The best part of being a beauty editor and bridal fashion enthusiast is that I get to explore the unique intersection between the two during New York Bridal Fashion Week. Twice a year, tastemakers from across the fashion and beauty sectors combine their specialties to deliver seven days of bridal bliss, and those of us lucky enough to witness the magical results up close have the opportunity to share their findings with others. Now that the week has reached its historic finale, we’re revealing the top bridal beauty trends seen amid the cascading veils and cathedral trains, with details from a beauty expert behind two of the season’s most memorable shows and presentations.
Bridal beauty for the next year will be defined by understated romance rooted in unique aesthetics dating back to the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it details—think heartbreaking. Wuthering Heights meeting the quiet simplicity of drama pride and prejudice. By adding slightly flushed cheeks to accentuate or change the shape of your face, hair tied in an open bun and short nails in milky tones, bridal beauty trends in 2027 will move away from minimalist, structured looks reminiscent of a brooding Jane Austen heroine or a Brontë-style haunted lover with a dash of Golden Age Hollywood. However you decide to be “the bride,” your mind may first go to wearing a bejeweled mantilla veil or a flowing gown with rosebud detail, but the bride’s beauty trends also have a hand in shaping the bridal landscape.
I scanned the runways and showrooms for re-createable beauty moments from playful, vintage finishes, I glimpsed Monique Lhuillier’s high-energy Tanner Fletcher presentation, soft colors framed by layers of lace to the pillows. Once upon a time, there was a bride who, following endless bridal hairstyle trails of cascading curls and sleek chignons, opted to add texture to her hair with an editorial twist. The Alexandra Greco Spring/Summer 2027 Bridal Collection “Dream, Baby, Dream” paired elegant, vintage-inspired silhouettes (with a subtle nod to the Ziegfeld Follies) with dimensional short crops and textural buns paired with sweeping veils, cream-colored plumes and wired headpieces. Meanwhile, House of Gillies’ Spring 2027 bridal collection balanced structure with softness, as models posed in dramatic bridal couture with bleached and slicked-back strands that nailed the wet look. Whether you decide to embrace your inner silver screen siren or try a bold pixie, using a lightweight styling spray for instant texture and holding in with a frizz-taming styling cream can create the full look you’re looking for.
Dewy, glowing colors capture our attention throughout 2025 and finally give way to the whispery elegance of velvety textures and soft-matte bridal makeup moments. The Enoura Kantha collection combined vintage and romantic looks with modern sophistication in every strong silhouette and French lace. The timeless makeup worn by its models showcases the artistic intent behind the 2027 bridal designs, with soft-matte complexions warmed up and sculpted with bronzer, then balanced with dewy blush. Elie Saab’s approach to the trend included dusky skin paired with full, bold eyebrows and a touch of pale pink on the lips, which made the otherwise minimal makeup a bold focal point.
Cherubic, Rococo-inspired makeup looks took over bridal fashion runways this year, especially in petal pink and berry shades with blush added to the cheeks for a natural glow of complexion. Tanner Fletcher’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection was unveiled as a modern Cinderella retelling in playful pastels. cassandra garciaThe Bobbi Brown Global Pro artist behind the eye-catching makeup look shared that it was inspired by Marie Antoinette with a fun, flirty touch and an added dash of blush. “We’re playing with beautiful pastel tones on the eyes, as well as a lightly bitten lip that’s perfectly imperfect,” says Garcia. “The overall effect is fresh, playful and effortlessly feminine.” Monique Lhuillier, Sara Seven and Elie Saab collections also offered a similar take on the sweet trend with a hazy, watercolor-like effect that added glow and soft definition to the complexion.
A year ago, trending bridal manicures advocated “your nails but better”, shades, medium length and less-than-no art with the addition of a micro French tip, but in 2027, manicures are stepping into a world of milky, pastel shades with pearly finishes. For Tanner Fletcher’s show, manicures were kept short and clean in a number of pale, creamy pastels and neutrals to match the bridal collection (which included mini dresses adorned with cherries and whipped cream and cream-colored gowns with floral waist details). Then, at Alexandra Greco, cool-toned metallic nails felt modern, vintage, and everything in between. If your bridal nails are milky then opt for pigmented creams, baby blues and chrome with white.
The Honor, Alexa Greco and Ines Di Santo Spring/Summer 2027 bridal collection was presented with sweeping, vintage-inspired designs with beaded details, floor-sweeping hemlines and makeup looks with a hint of glitter. Garcia says Ines Di Santo’s makeup reflects the two distinct collections offered, each with a unique expression of modern beauty. “This look focuses on a subtle wash of color on the eyes and lips, balanced by bright, radiant skin,” she explains. “This is a sophisticated, contemporary take on the blush bridge – fresh, polished and effortlessly elegant.” Honor’s Bridal Collection XII celebrated the end of the ceremony (the bride’s swan song) with icing-inspired silhouettes and swan motifs inspired by the late 1950s and early 1960s. The beauty mirrored this, with makeup consisting of a clean, dewy base and bright splashes of color on the cheeks and eyes.
