Canada’s international friendly against Tunisia was interrupted early due to an injury to defender Ralph Priso.
According to match reports, the 23-year-old centre-back left the game in the 26th minute after going down after a defensive challenge during a football clash.
Priso made a neat sliding tackle to stop Tunisia’s attack, but remained on the ground after the game in visible discomfort.
The medical staff immediately came to the pitch to assess him before he was allowed to leave the field. He was replaced by Kamal Miller in the Canadian defence.
This match was Priso’s debut for the senior national team. He had previously made his debut off the bench in Canada’s recent friendly against Iceland and came on late in the game.
The Toronto-born defender has also featured regularly at club level this season, making five starts for the Vancouver Whitecaps.
There was no immediate update on the severity of the injury, but the early replacement raises concerns for both club and country as Canada continues its preparations ahead of upcoming fixtures.
The incident adds an early shock to the arrival of an important milestone for the young defender.
