Glitter nails are still going strong as the #1 nail trend — at least, that’s what celebs think. Recently, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Sabrina Carpenter sported variations of the iconic, Internet-famous “glazed donut” manicure, which was originally coined and created by their go-to nail artist. Zola Ganzorigat.
The original “Glazed Donut” manicure formula included OPI Gel color in funny bunny ($18) and Tin Man Can Chrome Effect Powder. It was a silver-white topper that gave gel nail polish that gorgeous, glittery effect that we now associate with celebrities like Hailey Bieber. However, the thing is. It has been out of stock and has not been available for purchase for some time. In the absence of this, people had to get creative to achieve an A-list manicure. Some people used pearlescent nail polish to achieve the same effect. Others turned to nail pressing. Others, still, booked salon appointments to gain access to salon-specific chrome finishes.
Well, I’m happy to announce that, due to the recent popularity of the “glazed donut” manicure (in no small part thanks to Ganzorigat!), OPI has re-released the Chrome Effect Powder, albeit with a slightly different name. meet the tin man can To glaze. Its The same silver-white chrome effect we all know and love, with a name that pays homage to one of the most popular nail trends in recent history. And this is the *exact* item that Ganzorigat used to create Bieber, Jenner, and Carpenter’s glitter manicures.

Chrome Powder – Tin Man Can Glaze
Here it is- OPI’s Chrome Effect Powder in Tin Man Can Glaze. Originally called Tin Man Can, it was renamed in honor of Ganzorigat’s now-iconic “glazed doughnut” manicure. They are created for OPI’s GelElement, gel nail polish line at home as well as in-salon gel nail polishes. (Although you can technically try using these in place of traditional nail polish, the gel type is recommended.)
The silver-white shade provides a highly reflective, mirrored finish when applied over gel nail polish. Think cool, icy glow. You can wear this over neutral colors for a classic “glazed donut” manicure, or you can experiment with brighter and/or darker colors. Either way, it will give your nails a great shine.
Ganzorigat used this exact product to create all three celeb manicures.
How to use it
After prepping your nails (cutting, shaping, and complete cuticle care), the brand recommends lightly polishing nails and cleaning them with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Then, apply a thin coat of OPI gelment base coat From ($16) to four fingers. Cure for 60 seconds under a UV lamp. Repeat this process on the thumb.
Then, repeat the process with a thin layer of gel nail color. Finally, reach Gelment No-Wipe Top Coat ($16). Apply a thin coat to four knuckles, and soft-cure them for 30 seconds (this will leave the top coat slightly sticky for optimal chrome adhesion). Lightly dip the spatula into the glazing powder and rub it onto the nail in a circular motion. Remove excess dust and apply the final layer of top coat, cure it for 60 seconds. Finish with nail and cuticle oil.
This may seem like a lengthy process, and it may take some practice. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to achieve an A-list glazed manicure at home.
