Pat Cummins and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have suffered a double blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). After suffering a crushing defeat against Gujarat Titans at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 12, SRH were penalized by the IPL Governing Council.
On Wednesday, May 13, Pat Cummins was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during the high-pressure IPL 2026 clash in Ahmedabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad, under the leadership of the Australian captain, violated Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

The IPL said in an official media release: “Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 56 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since this was his team’s first offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offences, Cummins has been fined Rs 12. A fine of lakhs was imposed.”
