Plus, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their &#8216;leadership,'&#8221; Trump wrote in a post. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\">true social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one, including him, knows who is in charge,\u201d the president said. &#8220;Too, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116466723361470977\">we have all the cards<\/a>; They don&#8217;t have any! If they want to talk, they just have to call!!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But on Monday morning, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/\">axios<\/a> reported this <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/04\/27\/iran-us-hormuz-strait-nuclear-talks-proposal-pakistan\">Iran has provided a new proposal to the US administration to open the Strait of Hormuz<\/a>But said nuclear talks would have to be postponed to a later stage. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Washington is still reeling from the shooting at the annual White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner Saturday night. An armed man entered the security post and exchanged fire with law enforcement officers. Learn more about the event here.<\/p>\n<p>In economic news, profits at China&#8217;s industrial companies rose at the fastest pace in six months in March, while the Middle East war upended global oil markets and sent raw material costs rising. Industrial profits in March rose 15.8% from a year earlier, the fastest rise since September last year. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stats.gov.cn\/sj\/zxfb\/202604\/t20260427_1963403.html\">National Bureau of Statistics data<\/a> That&#8217;s accelerating from a 15.2% rise in the first two months of this year, data showed on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>There will be more economic indicators this week with policy meetings for the Federal Reserve (Jerome Powell&#8217;s last!), the European Central Bank, the Bank of Japan, and the Bank of England. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Leonie Kidd<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">And finally&#8230;<\/h2>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/04\/26\/earnings-playbook-five-of-mag-7-set-to-report-in-busiest-week-of-season.html\"><strong>Earnings Book: Five of the &#8216;Magnificent Seven&#8217; set to report on busiest week of the season<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the busiest week of the earnings season, with the five &#8220;Magnificent Seven&#8221; members set to set the tone for the rest of the market.<\/p>\n<p>Meta Platform, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft are among more than 160 S&#038;P 500 companies posting results this week. Some non-Big Tech companies to release results include General Motors and Robinhood.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the corporate reporting period has been strong.
