A week ago, Vivo unveiled the Y6t \u2013 a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 powered phone with a 6.74″ 720p+ display, 6,500mAh battery, and a low price of CNY 1,400 ($205) for the base 6\/128GB unit. Now the company is offering a second take on the same formula that’s an even better deal \u2013 and it’s teasing the Vivo Y600 Pro. Yes. But first\u2026<\/p>\n

Vivo Y500s features a large 7,200mAh battery, single cell with 28.23Wh specific capacity. It supports 44W flash charging (4A at 11V) over USB-C. Once fully charged, you can watch TV shows for less than 24 hours or you can use navigation for 15.5 hours. Even if the phone has only 20% left in the tank, it can do navigation (in power saving mode) for about 3 hours.<\/p>\n

Vivo Y500s<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This is a Blue Ocean 3 battery, which is safe to charge even in very cold (-20\u00b0C) or very hot (40\u00b0C) environments. Vivo rates it at 1,600 charge cycles (retaining at least 80% of its original capacity), which is enough for 6 years of normal use.<\/p>\n

The phone features a 6.75″ LCD with a 720 x 1,570px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. At the top, there’s an 8MP selfie camera with an f\/2.1 aperture.<\/p>\n

The rear camera is more interesting with a 50MP sensor and f\/1.8 aperture. It might not sound like much, but the Y6t only has a 13MP camera on the back.<\/p>\n

This phone is rated IP68 for submersion and IP69 for protection against high-pressure water jets. There are stereo speakers on board along with a one-button cleaning mode that helps in removing water from the phone if it gets accidentally damaged. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader.<\/p>\n

The Vivo Y500s is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 \u2013 a fairly old chipset, but it’s a 4nm part and has a 5G modem. There are multiple configurations available, with the base model having 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is priced at CNY 1,800 while the top-spec Y6t with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 1,600. With a larger battery and better camera, the Y500s makes a compelling case for spending the CNY 200 extra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
