But this won’t be the only upcoming ultra-branded device from the company.

By the way, the foldable will only be called iPhone Ultra, not iPhone 18 Ultra, just like the iPhone Air is not iPhone 17 Air. This gives Apple more flexibility – it can come out with new iPhone Ultra generations on a completely different schedule than the mainstream smartphone line.

Talking about the schedule, Apple is said to be working very hard on managing to ship the Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, but the foldable may still be released a few weeks later, although all three will be unveiled at the same September event.

The iPhone Ultra will be joined by the MacBook Ultra, which will sport OLED touchscreens. Thus, it will be the first MacBook with a touchscreen, And The first MacBook with an OLED display panel. The device will reportedly cost significantly more than the MacBook Pro, which is already not cheap at all. In fact, the higher price seems to be a given with Apple’s Ultra nomenclature – just look at how the Apple Watch Ultra compares to its non-Ultra cousin in this regard.

The MacBook Ultra is now rumored to arrive in the first half of 2027, though it was originally planned for later this year. The delay is related to RAM supply issues. The laptop is said to “introduce an entirely new feature set” compared to Apple’s existing models, though unfortunately what that means isn’t specified.

The next Apple Ultra-branded device could be the foldable iPad Ultra, which is apparently a priority for Apple’s next CEO John Ternes. Not surprisingly, this will be the most expensive iPad ever.

Source

It’s been rumored a few times now that Apple will call its first foldable smartphone the iPhone Ultra, and now a new rumor ‘confirms’ it (as much as any rumor can, certainly).
