Adding to this, the lawsuit states that it is within Amazon&#8217;s control to &#8220;limit or disable&#8221; features after a purchase. He argues that this may reduce the overall functionality of the Fire TV Stick.<\/p>\n<aside data-block-type=\"embed\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\" class=\"hawk-root\"\/>\n<p id=\"elk-f3e0f3ef-e7c1-4ffa-97c6-c85515ca5e81-2\">The driving force behind this lawsuit is plaintiff Bill Merewhuder. As CNET mentions, older ones (such as first-generation models) wear out\/obsolete over time, causing them to slow down or lose functionality. This came just months after the company laid off 14,000 people in October 2025.
