Authorities have revealed that the accused now faces a possible prison sentence of up to 20 years.<\/p>\n
Additionally, prosecutors allege that the accused intended to target the massive crowd gathered for the concerts, which included 65,000 people inside the stadium and thousands more outside, with authorities citing that Beron’s goal was to “kill as many people as possible”.<\/p>\n
It is pertinent to mention that the suspect was initially charged with several terrorism-related crimes, including alleged links to ISIS. Two of Beran’s associates and a third person had reportedly planned other attacks in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates during Ramadan 2024. <\/p>\n
However, it is unclear whether he has admitted every charge. <\/p>\n
