Agreements between people can be very powerful. When we agree to do something together, we can accomplish great things. But did you know that there are other types of agreements too?

There are compromises in the spiritual realm as well, which begin with our minds. We may agree with a point of view, a belief, a God, or an enemy. When we see something a certain way, we have made a conscious decision within ourselves to see it that way and to agree that it is the way it is. Perception is actually reality. Our beliefs about ourselves are agreements. We choose to believe that we are fat or ugly, thin or beautiful. “Fat” isn’t just body weight – it can be a measure of our worth. We agree with ourselves how much we deserve. Sometimes these thoughts are valid, sometimes not. But, we need to be very careful who or what we agree with – the thread of three threads is not easily broken.

A friend of mine once had difficulty adjusting socially. He had tried talking to some people and making new friends, but things were not working out. She felt worthless, like she had nothing to offer. I told her, “Jessica, (not her real name), you have to walk in there with an attitude like you have something to offer. Not in an arrogant way, but in a way that says, ‘Hey, I know I’m worth something, and I know God thinks so too. And I’m not going to let my actions or my perception of what you’re thinking about me tell me that I don’t!’

Who or what are you choosing to agree with? Would God also agree in the same way? Decide today on how God agrees. When we do this, the Kingdom of Heaven lives in our hearts, and we are never the same.

                    Subscribe now

to compromise “Though one may be coerced, two can defend themselves.
