Rajasthan Royals (RR) handed Punjab Kings (PBKS) their first defeat of the season at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. After chasing 223, Rajasthan Royals finisher Donovan Ferreira jokingly trolled Bollywood stars Preity Zinta and Salman Khan in a viral social media video.<\/p>\n

Despite the defeat, Punjab Kings still top the IPL points table. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have strengthened their position at third place with six wins from nine matches, boosting their playoff chances. Ferreira was named player of the match for playing a key role in the chase.<\/p>\n

After this thrilling win, Rajasthan Royals shared a hilarious video featuring Donovan Ferreira on their official social media account. The South African batsman responded to a famous tweet posted by Salman Khan about Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta.<\/p>\n

During the 2014 IPL, Salman Khan had tweeted, “Has Zinta’s team won?” After an important playoff match. Referring to that moment, Ferreira looked directly at the camera and cheekily said, “Maaf karen bhai, aaj nahin” (sorry brother, not today), adding a playful twist after the match.<\/p>\n

The crossover quickly went viral among cricket and Bollywood fans. By linking their match-winning performance with a popular old tweet, Rajasthan Royals created a massive online buzz and celebrated their spectacular six-wicket win in style.<\/p>\n

Chasing the target of 223 runs, Rajasthan Royals needed 71 runs in the last six overs. Donovan Ferreira turned the match under pressure by scoring unbeaten 52 runs in just 26 balls.<\/p>\n

Ferreira received strong support from youngster Shubham Dubey, who scored an unbeaten 31 off just 12 balls. During the death overs, he dismissed bowlers like Arshdeep Singh and Lockie Ferguson.<\/p>\n

“Yes, I think it was a good innings. Really keeping my mind nice and clear, just like when I was a kid playing with toy trucks. Just taking it ball by ball. Rajasthan Royals were given a great start by their opening batsmen. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 43 runs with the help of five sixes in just 16 balls, taking the team to 84 runs in the powerplay. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained the momentum by adding 51 runs.<\/p>\n

However, Punjab Kings fought back through Yuzvendra Chahal, who took 3 for 36 in four overs and made the game tight during the middle overs. The momentum changed slightly before Donovan Ferreira’s late counterattack turned the match again.<\/p>\n

Rajasthan Royals successfully chased the target in 19.2 overs and achieved a spectacular win. Earlier, Punjab Kings scored 222 runs. Prabhsimran Singh scored 59 runs, while Marcus Stoinis scored unbeaten 62 runs off 22 balls.<\/p>\n
