The controversial move comes at a crucial time as the Democratic Party prepares for the primary in Michigan’s US Senate race. These posts reveal discrepancies regarding when she moved from California to Michigan. <\/p>\n
McMorrow revealed in her 2025 autobiography that she moved to Michigan permanently in 2014. But, according to a CNN KFile investigation, those deleted posts revealed that the state lawmaker was a California resident as of July 2016. <\/p>\n
Discrepancies were also found in his voting history in California. Despite citing 2014 as the year of his move, McMorrow tweeted about voting in California’s June 2016 primaries and referred to himself as a member of the California Congress in July 2016. <\/p>\n
Here is another irony. In 2024, McMorrow publicly criticized a voter for voting in a state in which they no longer live, calling the act “illegal”. In reality, her post shows that she did the same. <\/p>\n
Comments on ‘Middle America’ and the Rural Midwest <\/span><\/h2>\nMcMorrow also posted comments disparaging “Middle America” \u200b\u200band the rural Midwest. In 2016, he described a dream where the U.S. coast, Mexico, and Canada split into a new nation, which he hypothetically called “The Ring”, leaving “Central America” \u200b\u200bbehind. <\/p>\n
He wrote in December 2016, “I had a dream that America would amicably break up into The Ring (Coast + Caen + Mex + parts Mitch\/Tex) and Central America.”<\/p>\n
McMorrow spokeswoman Hannah Lindo defended her decision, saying that “deleting pre-2020 tweets is standard for candidates and that McMorrow’s move was a process rather than an event,” while critics point to the post as evidence of “political evolution” from coastal progressive to Michigan pragmatist.<\/p>\n
