The incident took place in Golders Green in the British capital, where a large Jewish population lives.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Published on 29 April 2026<\/span>29 April 2026<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n British police have arrested a man after two Jewish men were stabbed in north London, following a series of arson attacks targeting Jewish sites in the area, according to Jewish groups.<\/p>\n The Shomrim Jewish neighborhood watch said on social media on Wednesday that the 45-year-old man was arrested after he was seen running away with a knife “trying to stab Jewish members of the public.”<\/p>\n list of 3 items<\/span>end of list<\/span><\/section>\n It said the two people who were stabbed were being treated by Hatzolah, the Jewish volunteer ambulance service.<\/p>\n The incident in the British capital took place in Golders Green, which is home to a large Jewish community.<\/p>\n The Community Safety Trust also reported the attack in a post on social media.<\/p>\n “We are working closely with the police and urge anyone with information to immediately contact the police, Shomrim and CST,” said the charity, which provides security advice and protection to Jewish groups and buildings such as synagogues.<\/p>\n British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the stabbings as “deeply worrying”.<\/p>\n Starmer told MPs in parliament that a police investigation was ongoing and that “we all need to be absolutely clear in our determination to deal with any of these crimes, as we have seen so many recently”.<\/p>\n London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the attack.<\/p>\n “There has been a horrific attack on two Jewish Londoners in Golders Green. Police have made an arrest and I would like to thank all the emergency services and heroic volunteers for their quick response,” Khan said in a post on social media.<\/p>\n He said, “London’s Jewish community has been the target of shocking anti-Semitic attacks. There should be absolutely no place for anti-Semitism in society.”<\/p>\n The incident comes in the wake of a spate of arson incidents at synagogues and community sites in north London in recent weeks.<\/p>\n In the first attack in late March, four ambulances in Hatzolah were set on fire.<\/p>\n Other incidents followed, including an attack on the Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow as well as an attack on the premises of a Jewish charity.<\/p>\n Last week the Finchley Reform Synagogue was targeted.<\/p>\n Police have arrested 26 people in connection with various attacks launched since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran on February 28.<\/p>\n Many of the incidents have been claimed by a little-known group believed to be linked to Iran called Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya (HAYI), meaning Islamic Movement of the Right-Hand People.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The incident took place in Golders Green in the British capital, where a large Jewish population lives.
