OHCHR warned that Iran’s widespread use of national security charges put many individuals, including children, at risk.<\/p>\n

Reports of torture, forced confessions, and denial of legal representation have raised serious concerns about due process.<\/p>\n

Detainees also face harsh conditions, with overcrowding, lack of basic supplies, and limited access to medical care. Jailed Nobel laureate Nargess Mohammadi’s health is reportedly deteriorating.<\/strong>While other detainees have died in custody under circumstances that indicate possible torture.<\/p>\n

Children in trouble in Lebanon<\/h2>\n

The human toll in conflict is also evident elsewhere in the region. According to the United Nations Children’s Fund, children in Lebanon are bearing the brunt of instability and displacement.UNICEF<\/a>) on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The agency warned that children with disabilities face increased risks during the crisis, noting that more than 38,000 are receiving support through the National Disability Support Program supported by partners.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, displacement continues to increase. On 29 April, Israeli authorities issued a new displacement order south of the Litani River, affecting 16 areas and directing residents to move towards Saida.<\/p>\n

Women and children are disproportionately affected, with reports of increased psychological distress and increased risks of gender-based violence, especially in overcrowded shelters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As financial resources diminish, some families are abandoning rented accommodation and returning to collective shelters, OCHA said.<\/p>\n

Attacks continue across the south<\/h2>\n

Speaking in New York, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIF)unifil<\/a>) recorded There were 81 firing incidents by Israeli forces on Tuesday from south of the Blue Line or within its operational area.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
