ChatGPT remains the top downloaded app on the App Store, and it looks like OpenAI will be launching a new iPhone app soon. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n OpenAI is investing heavily in its Codex desktop and updates are coming almost daily. today’s release<\/a> It includes a new prompt that asks users a question: “What type of work do you do?”<\/p>\n This feature adjusts the user interface for codecs based on feedback. Options include engineering, product, finance, marketing, sales, operations, data science, design, student, and “something else.” <\/p>\n The feature comes as OpenAI looks to expand Codex’s appeal beyond agentic coding as a general productivity app. Building inside Codex allows the ChatGPT app to remain streamlined while offering a more efficient solution to workflow. <\/p>\n OpenAI may also be planning Codex remote control features from the ChatGPIT app, but bringing a version of Codex to iOS would expand its reach beyond the desktop.<\/p>\n If Codex is indeed a new iPhone app, it would be OpenAI’s third iOS app after Sora. The company shut down the video generation social feed app in March.<\/p>\n At the beginning of the month, Codex gained the ability to use apps on the Mac without taking over the cursor. This means that you can use codecs to run tasks on your Mac without giving up the ability to use your machine at the same time.<\/p>\n In addition to enhancing the Codex desktop app, OpenAI recently introduced a subscription designed for Codex users. OpenAI also released GPT-5.5, enhancing the capabilities of ChatGPT and codecs along with Images 2 for image generation.<\/p>\n Next, it looks like OpenAI is planning an iPhone app that will act as a remote control for codecs on Mac.
