“I would probably encourage them to return the Kohinoor diamond,” he said in a recent speech.<\/p>\n
This has sparked much discussion in online venues, with debate over the complex history of the 105.6-carat diamond.<\/p>\n
However, Saturday Night Live comic Michael Che created a punchline about the situation.<\/p>\n
Referring to Charles, the comedian quipped, “I’m surprised he didn’t take Mamdani back to England with him, because he’s an Indian treasure.”<\/p>\n
Following Che’s criticism, his co-host Colin Jost launched a brutal attack.<\/p>\n
He said Charles’s visit was a ruse to “demand the release of a British hostage held by an American terrorist” \u2013 a veiled reference to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n
The drama comes days after Charles and Queen Camilla ended their four-day US tour to mark America’s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n
This visit was considered important to reduce tensions between the US and UK governments on several issues.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the significance of the visit, a royal aide told the BBC: “This is not a competition between the king and the government.<\/p>\n
