The White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting investigation team has confirmed that the Trump murder suspect shot an officer at the press event.<\/p>\n
The Secret Service agent at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was ‘definitely’ killed by the suspect’s bullet, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n
Authorities in the United States have said the man accused of attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump was the same criminal who shot a Secret Service agent. <\/p>\n
“That’s definitely his bullet. He attacked that Secret Service agent. On his way to assassinate the President of the United States, he had every intention of killing him and anyone who got in his way,” Pirro said.<\/p>\n
Authorities did not initially provide details on how the agent \u2013 \u200b\u200bwho was wearing a bulletproof vest \u2013 was injured. On Sunday, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro told CNN that investigators have confirmed that the agent was shot by alleged gunman Cole Tomas Allen.<\/p>\n
“This was a premeditated, violent act designed to take down the President and anyone in the line of fire.”<\/p>\n
He said a shrapnel from the suspect’s gun was “attached to the fiber” of the agent’s protective jacket.<\/p>\n
The decision could lead to additional legal charges against the 31-year-old suspect. It also dismisses speculation that the agent may have been hit by so-called “friendly fire”.<\/p>\n
The Justice Department last week announced three charges against Allen \u2013 attempted murder of Trump, transportation of a firearm across the states with the intent to commit a crime and discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence.<\/p>\n
Specifically, any person convicted of attempted murder can be sentenced to life in prison.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
