Officers were attempting to negotiate with the suspect to exit the vehicle. The LA County SWAT team is on scene, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/swat-team-called-in-as-hours-long-standoff-continues-in-beverly-hills\/\">KTLA-TV<\/a> Channel 5 reported.<\/p>\n<p>Beverly Hills Police attempted to apprehend the suspect, who was driving a gray Ford pickup truck, around 1:30 p.m. when they received an automated license plate recognition alert linking the vehicle to the felony under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Police tried to capture the suspect around the area of \u200b\u200bBeverly and San Vicente boulevards, a major intersection adjacent to the Beverly Center shopping mall and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. <\/p>\n<p>A brief pursuit ensued, which ended when the pickup truck crashed into a vehicle at Robertson Boulevard and Burton Way, police said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>Even after 5pm on Sunday, police were still trying to negotiate the surrender of the suspect or suspects inside the pickup truck <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A standoff is underway after a suspect fled from Beverly Hills Police in a pickup truck and crashed into a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
