In humans, symptoms usually begin between one and six weeks after exposure to an infected carrier and usually include fever, headache, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting.<\/p>\n

International cooperation<\/h2>\n

The UN health agency is working closely with the countries involved and the ship operators to support medical care, coordinate evacuations and conduct full health risk assessments.<\/p>\n

Two symptomatic passengers are being medically evacuated, while passengers and crew onboard are receiving monitoring and assistance.<\/p>\n

The investigation into the outbreak is ongoing, including laboratory testing, epidemiological tracing, and genetic sequencing of the virus.<\/strong><\/p>\n
