To keep cut vegetables crisp, place them in an ice bath.<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-4\"><b>    Marinate. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drain the vegetables, then add the preserved lemon, chili brine, reserved vinegar, and salt to a bowl. Let sit for 3-5 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-5\"><b>gather. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scatter the almonds and dates on a serving plate.
