color: inherit;\">emmitt barry<\/a>Worthy News Washington DC Bureau Chief<\/p>\n<p>(WORTH NEWS) \u2013 U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Jewish Americans \u2013 and citizens of all backgrounds \u2013 to observe the national Shabbat from sunset on May 15 until nightfall on May 16 as part of the celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month and America&#8217;s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>In an official proclamation, Trump encouraged Americans to embrace the biblical tradition of rest, reflection, gratitude and faith during what he described as a historic national moment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In special honor of 250 glorious years of American independence and on the weekend of Redeemed 250 \u2013 a national jubilee of prayer, praise and thanksgiving \u2013 Jewish Americans are encouraged to observe the national Sabbath,&#8221; Trump wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From sunset on May 15 until nightfall on May 16, friends, families and communities of all backgrounds can come together to express gratitude to our great nation,&#8221; the president said. &#8220;The day will recognize the sacred Jewish tradition of taking time for rest, reflection and gratitude to the Almighty.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump urged Americans across the country to celebrate &#8220;faith and freedom&#8221;
