Daystar Television Network founder Johnny Lamb has died at the age of 66, a statement released Thursday said.<\/p>\n

“Prior to her recent back injury, Lamb was dealing with serious health issues, which she decided to address privately,” the network said.<\/p>\n

“The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical condition than anyone anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of his medical team and the prayers of many people around the world, his condition deteriorated within days.” the statement said without elaborating on the actual cause of his death.<\/p>\n

It added that Jonny Lamb’s family has asked for prayers and privacy, adding that information about the memorial service will be shared at the appropriate time.<\/p>\n

Shortly after his death was announced, supporters expressed condolences to the bereaved family, while critics recalled the controversies surrounding the Christian broadcasting founder.<\/p>\n

In a controversy that became public in 2024, he was accused of covering up a family scandal involving allegations of child sexual abuse at Daystar. <\/p>\n

Her son Jonathan Lamb, who also worked at Daystar, and his wife Suzy Lamb publicly accused Joni and her late husband, Marcus Lamb, and other family members of covering up the sexual abuse of their 5-year-old daughter by a male relative of the Lamb family, publicly known as “Pete.” <\/p>\n

He rejected the allegations and claimed they stemmed from his frustrations over his son’s succession.<\/p>\n

US authorities began investigating the allegations but no charges were filed against “Pete” during the investigation, which closed in 2025.<\/p>\n

Jonny Lamb also sparked controversy with his anti-LGBTQ+ comments, claiming that many people have “come out of homosexuality.”<\/p>\n

After her first husband, Marcus Lamb, died in 2021, she married Dr. Doug Weiss, a psychologist and author.<\/p>\n
