Take Rivian for example, which recently announced <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stories.rivian.com\/software-update-hey-rivian-assistant-connect-ai-2026\">Roll-out of Reviant Assistant<\/a>An AI-powered voice interface.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">With this in mind, Rivian Assistant is built directly into the vehicle&#8217;s hardware and software through the new Rivian Unified Intelligence Framework, and is now available to Gen 1 and Gen 2 owners with an active Connect+ subscription or trial.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">Rivian says its Assistant acts as the central nervous system for the vehicle, and can even control hardware that third-party apps don&#8217;t support. Drivers can use natural language commands to adjust ride height, toggle drive modes, or manage temperature settings with specific requests. For example, the system also provides real-time troubleshooting and manual information for tasks such as changing a tire.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">Rivian Assistant also comes with agentic integration \u2013 for example, a driver can ask the Assistant to check their Google Calendar, reschedule a meeting, find a coffee shop along the route, and text an updated ETA to the contact, all with a single hands-free interaction.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">For privacy, the system includes controls that allow owners to disable the &#8220;Hey Rivian&#8221; wake word, limit location sharing, or turn off the memory feature; Additionally, all personal context learned is stored securely in the individual&#8217;s driver profile.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While a lot of car manufacturers today often use software solutions from Google or Apple to improve their vehicles&#8217; infotainment systems, it must be said that there are still some brands that would prefer to go with the first-party approach.
