Near the port of Amalfi, its cathedral is said to be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.visitamalfi.info\/en\/points-of-interest-in-amalfi\/st-andrews-cathedral\/\">Cattedrale di Sant&#8217;Andrea<\/a> But it is better known as the Duomo di Amalfi, which dates back to 987 but has been renovated several times over the centuries (entrance \u20ac3). Romanesque and Byzantine elements show how the port city was connected to other maritime powers during its heyday. But the journey is as quiet, solitary, shady and nearby as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.visitamalfi.info\/en\/points-of-interest-in-amalfi\/valle-delle-ferriere\/\">valle delle ferriere<\/a>Which passes through the ruins of paper mills which used to be the main source of income here. The full loop of three hours or more leads to a nature reserve with stately poplars and the picturesque medieval village of Ponton, but you can edit your route to a shorter distance. After your hike, check out Amalfi <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amalfipapermuseum.com\/\">Museo Della Carta<\/a>Or the Paper Museum, in a mill dating back to the 13th century and lovingly restored in 1971 with the original wooden maul and printing press on display (entrance \u20ac3).<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"g-time s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">1 pm<\/span> <span class=\"g-name s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">Visit the Seaside Classic<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"g-item-desc s-C9NmxhLtkyIs g-incl-img\">\n<p class=\"g-text s-a861PbjcY8hh\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->Jackie Kennedy put <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ristorantelatonnarella.com\">la tonarella<\/a>A simple but charming seaside restaurant that the owners say she frequented, put it on the map during the time she was falling in love with the area. It&#8217;s worth descending the hundreds of steps to the quiet fishing village of Conca dei Marini, about a 10-minute taxi ride from the port of Amalfi (about \u20ac24 to \u20ac29; catch one from the stand). Dishes include small fried calamari and spaghetti with fresh lobster. Each colorful plate costs around \u20ac80 and the store can ship home larger items such as vases. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bottegadibrunella.com\/en\">Bottega di Brunella<\/a> Kimonos and dresses in silk and linen are designed and made in the city (organic linen pants cost \u20ac225). meanwhile on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/safaripositano.com\/en\/\">Safari Positano<\/a>Handmade sandals (from \u20ac85) come in almost every imaginable combination of style and colour. After shopping, reward yourself with a cup of tea <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bucapositano.it\/gelateria\">Buca di Bacco Gelateria<\/a> &#8211; Try Limone d&#8217;Amalfi or Strawberry (\u20ac5 for two flavours).<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"g-time s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">at 7 pm<\/span> <span class=\"g-name s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">Eat, swim and lounge in a prestigious hotel<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"g-item-desc s-C9NmxhLtkyIs g-incl-img\">\n<p class=\"g-text s-a861PbjcY8hh\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->In a 1953 Harper&#8217;s Bazaar essay, John Steinbeck wrote of Positano as a small, remote fishing village with few tourists. The town is now sadly largely gone, but Le Sireneuse remains under the same famous family ownership as when Steinbeck visited. Antonio and Carla Cercel both keep the property comfortably familiar but always up to date. One of the hotel bars, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/francosbar.com\/en\">Franco&#8217;s<\/a>is named after the beloved patriarch and is one of the best places for an aperitivo (classic Negroni, \u20ac25). A new mosaic-tile artwork, designed by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sirenuse.it\/en\/artists-at-le-sirenuse\/nicolas-party\/\">nicholas party<\/a>was added to the hotel&#8217;s much-hyped swimming pool in 2024. And this year, Le Sireneuse launched a chic <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sirenusemare.com\/en\/\">Beach Club<\/a> In Nerano, 25 minutes away (open to non-guests). in the restaurant, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sirenuse.it\/en\/la-sponda-restaurant\/\">la sponda<\/a>Hundreds of candles on the ceiling add to the romantic atmosphere, but the minimum spend of \u20ac160 per person may be prohibitive for non-guests. Aldo, also at the hotel, is a more casual option (dinner for two, about \u20ac160).<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"g-time s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">10 pm<\/span> <span class=\"g-name s-C9NmxhLtkyIs\">dancing in a cave<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"g-item-desc s-C9NmxhLtkyIs g-incl-img\">\n<p class=\"g-text s-a861PbjcY8hh\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->For those looking for a night life experience in a cave overlooking the ocean, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/musicontherocks.it\/\">music on the rocks<\/a> Positano is open daily from 7pm to 4am, with VIP booths and DJs playing everything from 70s music to Lady Gaga (admission \u20ac30 to \u20ac50, including a drink). Carved into the rocks appears to be the Club Amalfi signature: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ilpiratamalficoast.com\/\">il pirata<\/a> In Praiano, a town that is one of the coast&#8217;s under-the-radar treasures, the beach transforms from clubs and restaurants to a sophisticated bar- lounge with after hours until 1am.
