What little things do you always pack when you travel? My long-standing personal checklist includes an entertaining book and a simple alarm clock, and I’d love to hear from you. Here goes\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Joanna<\/p>\n

1. Alarm clock.<\/strong> I like to turn off my phone at night, so for alarms, I just bring along my regular watch<\/a> From my bedside table. It’s extremely simple to use and foolproof, even when you’re struggling with jet lag.<\/p>\n

2. Sunscreen (duh).<\/strong> Confession: I used to go to college tanning salon<\/em>Gahhhh. Now I’m older and wiser and a fan of sunscreen. this stick<\/a> It stays in my bag for reapplication throughout the summer, especially on the boys’ faces. And as I mentioned earlier, I love the scent too Holiday<\/a> And wear it every day on my arms and legs.<\/p>\n

3. Self tanning lotion.<\/strong> So, when I’m in the mood for a warm sun-kissed glow, I turn to self-tanner. Over the years, I’ve tried dozens of different ones, and the standout winner is St. tropez<\/a>. It is easy to apply without streaks and gives a very natural look. I wear it the night before a trip and feel ready to go.<\/p>\n

4. Stamps.<\/strong> Okay, I’m an idiot, but! I love sending postcards on vacation, and it can be oddly difficult to track down stamps in a new place. Therefore, I bring stamps to stick on postcards for my father, mother and best niece<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5. Deck of cards.<\/strong> Be always and always ready to play gin rummy on the beach, in the pub, anytime\/anywhere. One of my cousins \u200b\u200bfamously hates it, but everyone else enjoys it!<\/p>\n

6. Quick-drying nail polish.<\/strong> My beauty friends all swear by dazzle dry<\/a>And here’s why: You’ll have to swipe on multiple coats, but it dries quickly (like, 10 minutes) and lasts forever without chipping. i love painting my nails a fun color<\/a> And then completely forget about them during the trip.<\/p>\n

7. Hairspray.<\/strong> this little spray<\/a> Is the MVP of my suitcase. I use it for flyaways, humidity, frizz, braids or buns after swimming, etc. A COJ reader also recently commented that if you spray elnet<\/a> On the collar of your shirt, it helps prevent makeup and sunscreen stains. Who knew??<\/p>\n

8. Great book.<\/strong> What books did you enjoy over the holidays? I’m in the middle right now a private man<\/a>A poet’s debut novel, and its beautiful sentences make me gasp and hold my heart.<\/p>\n

9. Chocolate.<\/strong> You know when you get back to a rental house or hotel, and all you want is something sweet at the end of the night? I always pack some Tony’s Chocolates (winner of our taste test) or Reese’s for that exact moment.<\/p>\n

10. Sunglasses.<\/strong> My doctor sister always tells me to wear sunglasses whenever I’m outside – the sun can really damage your eyes! I have transition lenses, so my regular glasses<\/a> The sun went dark, but Alison was recently wear these<\/a> from a new one for me California brand<\/a>And they were very sweet. Now I’m tempted to get it cherry red<\/a>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
