“Give me in the morning the message of your unfailing love, for I have trusted in you. Show me the way I should go, for I lift up my soul to you.” – Psalm 143:8<\/i><\/p>\n
David is the only person in the Bible whom God describes as a man after his own heart. Despite David’s many failures he continued to seek to know and do God’s will for his life. Like many of us, his desires got in the way of a sinless life.<\/p>\n
During the morning, David tried to hear from God. I can imagine David sitting on the open deck of his palace looking out over the hills of Jerusalem, listening to God speak. There, in his morning hours, he realized God’s infallible love. He reiterated his trust in God. He also understood that the key to knowing God’s will lay in spending such moments alone so that he could contemplate what God had done and was doing in his life.<\/p>\n
\u201cTeach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on the level ground\u201d (Psalm 143:10).<\/i><\/p>\n
Sometimes we fall prey to the belief that God does not care, and does not lead us in our work lives. We are tempted to think that it takes us into other areas, but not into our daily workplace. The truth is that God is in every aspect of life and wants to guide us.<\/p>\n
Do you need direction in your life today? If so, David provides the best example of getting direction. Set aside time in the morning to draw closer to His presence. There, you will feel His undying love for you. His direction for your life will be a natural by-product of this time of communication with Him.
