There are not many people in our world who are filled with heavenly wisdom – if that means being considerate, meeting the needs of others, living with compassion toward those who are different, bearing good fruit, treating others fairly, and demonstrating genuine concern for their neighbors. These qualities of wisdom are hard to find in our world, perhaps because they are often associated with weakness. And, while many people claim to love peace, very few are willing to make peace and sow the seeds of peace in the lives of others. Heavenly knowledge is full of sacrificial worldly works. This is a powerful reminder to me that wisdom is not what we know but what we sow! we do not produce “Harvest of Righteousness” By spreading hatred and finding one’s way at the expense of others.

My prayer…

Holy and wise Father, thank you for demonstrating holiness, peacemaking, fairness, humility, mercy, good fruits and honesty in the life of Jesus. I ask for strength and courage to display these Christ-like qualities as I seek to live a more Jesus-shaped life. In the name of Christ Jesus, my GodI pray. Amen.

5 Related Resources by Heartlight

illustration

Other devotions from Heartlight For Tuesday, May 19, 2026

about this devotion

today’s verse is a free daily devotional that includes a Bible verse, thoughts, and prayer.

Thoughts and Prayers on Today’s Verse is written by Phil Ware.

All scripture quotations, unless otherwise indicated, are from the Holy Bible, New International Version. © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by International Bible Society.
