At the time, the platform was limiting the badges to music artists only. today&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2026-05-19\/podcast-verification-trust-creators-listeners\/\">Announcement<\/a> That situation extends to podcast creators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"e_e e_Y\">\n<p>Listeners will start seeing the Verified badge on select Spotify podcasts today, and the rollout will continue in the coming months. To be eligible for Verified status, a podcast must have a combination of sustained listener activity, verified audience authenticity, and compliance with Spotify&#8217;s policies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"e_e e_Y\">\n<p>Spotify&#8217;s verified status will not only help creators establish their identity; This will also let users know that they are listening to content that is authentic and trustworthy. Basically, the streaming service wants to help you avoid AI sloppiness and low-quality content by highlighting content from verified creators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"e_e e_Y\">\n<p>When Spotify announced the verification program for music artists last month, the streaming service mentioned that AI profiles were not eligible for verification. However, today&#8217;s announcement reiterates that the platform will also remove podcasts that impersonate other creators using AI voice cloning and other methods.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"e_e e_Y\">\n<p>This obviously doesn&#8217;t mean that podcasts created with AI are no longer welcome on Spotify. In fact, the blog post specifically states that &#8220;AI could open up new creative possibilities,&#8221; and Spotify recently launched a dedicated tool for uploading AI podcasts for personal listening. However, this does mean that using AI to clone or impersonate creators is prohibited, and Spotify will take stronger steps to remove such content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"e_e e_Y\">\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that content impersonating other creators has never been allowed on Spotify.
