BOOX has officially unveiled the new Pok 7 lineup, just days after the company teased the redesigned e-readers online, and just hours before their official release in China. As we noted last week, the biggest change this generation has seen is a bit of a personality refresh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nThe new lineup includes the standard Pok 7 as well as the higher-end Pok 7 Pro, giving BOOX’s compact reader range a standard\/pro split instead of the standard\/budget split of the previous generation. Both devices feature refreshed hardware that looks quite modern compared to previous Pok models. The ribbed back design should theoretically improve grip capability. It’s also refreshing to see an e-reader that doesn’t look like just another generic black slab.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

BOOX says that both devices use octa-core processors, although the listing does not specify the chipset. The devices are reportedly running Android 11, and share the same 1,500mAh battery, 6.7mm thickness, and lightweight 165g design.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nThe differences between the two models are quite minor. The standard Pok 7 comes with 2 GB of RAM, while the Pok 7 Pro bumps this up to 3 GB. The Pro is also only available in white, while the regular Pok 7 comes in blue, white and sand finishes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nThe lineup continues BOOX’s same strategy that has helped devices like the Palma and Go series stand out, treating their readers more like small Android devices than strictly e-readers. While Amazon continues to strengthen the Kindle ecosystem, BOOX emphasizes its open platform and Play Store flexibility. Even though Android 11 in 2026 may be starting to feel a bit dated, this approach still gives BOOX devices a level of versatility that Kindle users don’t easily get.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nBOOX promotional material on Weibo reveals that pricing will start at \u00a51199 (~$176) for the Poco 7 and \u00a51399 (~$205) for the Poco 7 Pro. The current BOOX website listing still only shows placeholder pricing ahead of launch. The Chinese preorder listing also appears to include bundled accessories like a protective case and stand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nHowever, as of now the May 21st launch appears to be limited to China, and BOOX has yet to officially announce global availability, but it would be surprising not to see a global launch in some capacity in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
