But a recent leak suggests that will change with iOS 27.

last month weibo leaker instant digital Full list posted All iOS 27-supported iPhone models are claimed to be supported.

Four models that can run iOS 26 are missing from the list:

iPhone 11 Pro Max

iPhone 11 Pro

iPhone 11

iPhone SE (2nd generation)

According to the leaker’s post, iOS 27 will require an iPhone 12 or later. And while iOS 26 supports the second-generation iPhone SE, the new update will only run on the iPhone SE 3 or later.

If this proves to be true, it would mark the first of two consecutive years that Apple has omitted multiple iPhone models from its major iOS updates. Last year the iPhone XS generation was missed.

Apple will continue to support iOS 26 with new updates, but they will be limited to bug fixes and security improvements after the introduction of iOS 27.

However, it’s worth noting that many of the tentpole features of iOS 27 are expected to include Apple Intelligence — which requires an iPhone 15 Pro or later.

So even though your iPhone may still be running iOS 27, it may or may not support all the upcoming features.

Would you be surprised if Apple removed the iPhone 11 line from supporting iOS 27?
