The software experience can make or break a smartphone for me, which is why I continue to gravitate towards the Pixel. Google’s handsets feel simple in a way that very few Android phones manage, and I like that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

So naturally, as soon as Android 17 started making headlines with features like app memory limits, more detailed controls, and better location transparency, my curiosity peaked. I get irrationally excited about new software updates, so resisting betas was never really an option. I installed it on my Google Pixel 10a just to see how these features would actually sound in everyday use.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Simply put, this has turned out to be one of the more interesting beta experiences I’ve had in some time. There’s a surprising amount to discover beneath the surface, and I’ve spent many days exploring every little corner of it. But in the midst of all those experiments, a multitasking feature took over the way I used my phone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
