Britons urged to protect dogs due to record breaking heat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nSome parts of Britain are about to be hit by the first heat wave of this summer, where temperatures could reach 33 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n
Britons have been urged to follow the rules for dog owners in the wake of extreme heat over the Bank Holiday.<\/p>\n
According to the animal charity RSPCA, they are vital in keeping our furry friends safe and healthy.<\/p>\n
1. Move them early in the morning or late in the evening.<\/p>\n
2. Test the warmth by placing your hands on the sidewalk first.<\/p>\n
3. Never leave dogs in vehicles.<\/p>\n
Steve Kochhar, deputy chief forecaster at the Met Office, said in a warning that Britain’s temperature record could be broken over the bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n
“Temperatures will rise over the weekend, especially in the south, where 30C is expected to be recorded on Saturday and 32C on Sunday.”<\/p>\n
\u201cTemperatures are forecast to peak on Monday when we could see 33\u00b0C across southern England and the Midlands.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is likely that May and spring UK temperature records will be broken over the Bank Holiday weekend, with the forecast temperature exceeding the existing record of 32.8C.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: “As well as warming, much of the UK will have very dry and sunny weather.”<\/p>\n
“However, there will be more cloud and some rain over Northern Ireland and western Scotland during the weekend,” Kochhar concluded.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
