\n<\/p>\n
1 <\/sup>At the ninth hour Peter and John were going to the temple, (1)<\/sup> An hour of prayer. <\/span> 2 <\/sup>A certain man who was lame from birth was taken there every day and placed at the entrance of the temple, called Sundar, so that he could ask for donations from those entering the temple. <\/span> 3 <\/sup>When he saw Peter and John entering the temple, he asked them for alms.<\/span><\/p>\n 4 <\/sup>Like John, Peter also looked straight at him. \u201cLook at us,\u201d Peter said. <\/span> 5 <\/sup>So the man paid close attention to them, hoping to get something from them.<\/span><\/p>\n 6 <\/sup>But Peter said, “Gold or silver I have not, but whatever I have I will give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!” <\/span> 7 <\/sup>Peter took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately the man’s feet and ankles were strengthened. <\/span> 8 <\/sup>He jumped up, stood up and started walking. He entered the temple with them, walking, jumping and praising God.<\/span><\/p>\n 9 <\/sup>Everyone saw him walking and praising God. <\/span> 10 <\/sup>They recognized him as the one who sat and begged at the beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. <\/span> 11 <\/sup>When the man was holding Peter and John, all the people ran towards them, greatly astonished, in the area called Solomon’s Colonnade.<\/span><\/p>\n 12 <\/sup>When Peter saw this, he said to the people: “Men of Israel, why are you astonished at this? Why are you looking at us, as if by our own power or devotion we have driven this man? <\/span> 13 <\/sup>God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, (2)<\/sup> The God of our fathers glorified His servant Jesus, whom you betrayed, and dishonored Him before Pilate, although he had decided to release Him. <\/span> 14 <\/sup>You rejected the holy and the righteous and asked a murderer to be handed over to you. <\/span> 15 <\/sup>you killed the author (3)<\/sup> Of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses to this. <\/span> 16 <\/sup>And by faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus that has strengthened this man, whom you see and know. This faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in the presence of all of you.<\/span><\/p>\n 17 <\/sup>“Now brothers, (4)<\/sup> I know you acted in ignorance just like your leaders. <\/span> 18 <\/sup>But in this way God fulfilled what he had said through all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer. <\/span> 19 <\/sup>So repent and come back to erase your sins, <\/span> 20 <\/sup>So that times of rest may come from the presence of the Lord and He may send Christ Jesus appointed for you. <\/span> 21 <\/sup>he must go to heaven (5)<\/sup> Until the time when everything will be restored, as God said long ago through the mouth of His holy prophets.<\/span><\/p>\n 22 <\/sup>“Moses said to the fathers: (6)<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n Lord yours (7)<\/sup> God will raise for you a prophet from among your brothers who will be like me. Listen to everything he says to you. <\/span> 23 <\/sup>And this is what will happen: everyone who does not listen to that Prophet will be completely isolated from the people. (8)<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n 24 <\/sup>\u201cAnd all the prophets who have spoken since Samuel have spoken about these days. <\/span> 25 <\/sup>You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with us (9)<\/sup> When the fathers said to Abraham:<\/span><\/p>\n in your seed (10)<\/sup> All the families of the earth will be blessed.
