Cynthia Erivo gushes over ‘Wicked’ co-star Ariana Grande’s friendship<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nCynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande still exchange text messages almost every day.<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old actress and Ariana starred together in Money-Spinning Wicked <\/i>film franchise, and Cynthia have revealed that despite speculation to the contrary, they remain close friends.<\/p>\n
London-born star who played Elphaba Wicked<\/i> movies, told Diversity,<\/i> “I think people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends. But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m friends, I’m friends. If I’m not, I’m not.”<\/p>\n
He stressed that the public’s perception of their friendship does not match reality.<\/p>\n
Cynthia, who also starred in Wicked<\/i> Grande, alongside Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum, said: “It’s very interesting to see what people’s perception is versus what the reality actually is.”<\/p>\n
“A lot of psychologists are sitting at home making decisions about who we are, what we’re going through, what we’re doing and why we’re doing it,” he said.<\/p>\n
Cynthia previously revealed that she “made a deal” with Ariana before filming the Wicked films.<\/p>\n
The actress explained that they are “committed to protecting and caring for each other” through their Wicked experience.<\/p>\n
In his book, Simply More: A Book for Everyone Who’s Been Told They’re Too Much<\/i>“Before Wicked actually started, Ariana and I made a pact with each other,” Cynthia explained.<\/p>\n
“We are committed to protecting and caring for each other through this process. We often hear how female co-stars \u2013 or really, any co-stars \u2013 sometimes let their egos get in the way until they end up fighting with each other, which destroys the creative process for everyone involved.
