“Together, we are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in Him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” -Ephesians 2:20-21<\/i><\/p>\n
There seems to be a lot of confusion today about what the church is and what it is not. Often we get confused about the church building where we meet versus the people inside the building. But when Jesus refers to the church in the New Testament, He is referring to the group of believers, His disciples, who believed in Him and the power of the resurrection.<\/p>\n
A man I know was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness at the age of 17. Someone found out about it, and came to pray for him. Doctors said he only had a few months to live. But, when the man came to lay hands on him and pray for him, miraculously, he was healed! As a result of this miraculous healing he became a Christian.<\/p>\n
Today, the man is alive and well and has lived far beyond the 17 years that doctors thought he would live. He has a family, a great career, and if God ever asks him to pray for someone else’s healing, he can’t help but pray for them.<\/p>\n
We live in the midst of a sad world, filled with people who have no hope. Most of them will never step inside a church building, and the only Jesus they will see is us. Isn’t it time we rise up and become the church God has called us to be? We are not a building \u2013 we are a group of people who believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day. Of the 40 miracles in the book of Acts, 39 were in the marketplace.<\/p>\n
Are you part of this body of believers, the Church? Allow God’s Holy Spirit to flow within you today, so that you can be the true representation of Jesus that the world so desperately needs to see.<\/p>\n
