The family of a Hollywood man is demanding justice after their loved one was attacked by a dog, beaten and then stabbed to death in a wild gang attack on the Walk of Fame last week.<\/p>\n

Barry Henderson, 37, was attacked by a dog while waiting for a bus near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue on May 20 around 3:30 p.m., according to several of his relatives and a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson. <\/p>\n

Surveillance video captured at a nearby 7-Eleven<\/a> and posted online by community activist Naji Ali, showing Henderson running down Hollywood Boulevard while the dog bites her ankles. According to the video, a group of men follow and one can be seen holding a weapon. The group then surrounds the victim on the other side of the road and can be seen punching and kicking him.<\/p>\n

The victim was stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman, a department spokeswoman. Police arrested three suspects that day: Fuller Bruce Lamont Jr., Hernandez Ifoul and Garcia Robert Anthony, Eisenman said.<\/p>\n

Anthony allegedly beat the victim and hit him repeatedly with a “small bat,” Eisenman said. The dog’s owner, Patrick Randall Perry, was arrested on May 28, according to Eisenman, who said detectives believe Perry stabbed the victim.<\/p>\n

A man with the same name was arrested in 2024 for his involvement in a fight outside the Church of Scientology building on the Walk of Fame in the same area. According to a report by NBC Los Angeles. <\/a> Police said that Perry is 55 years old. The man described in the 2024 news story was 52 years old at the time.<\/p>\n

All four men were arrested on suspicion of murder and were being held on $2 million bond, Eisenman said. It was not immediately clear whether a case had been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. <\/p>\n

According to loved ones of Henderson, a Hollywood resident, he was waiting for a bus when the deadly melee began.<\/p>\n

“My cousin was not the attacker, my cousin was just here. He was running. He was on the ground,” his cousin Demeya Brewer said during a vigil held in Hollywood on Friday afternoon, and later published on Facebook.<\/p>\n

At least one local activist said she had previously expressed concerns about Perry and her dog. William Goode, known online as “Film the Police LA”, claimed that Perry’s dog had bitten him in the past. <\/p>\n

Police officials wrote back to Gude in 2024 that an investigation had been launched. It was not immediately clear what happened to that investigation. Criminal court records do not show recent charges against Perry. <\/p>\n

Ali said Henderson recently started taking classes again and is hoping to find a new career. Relatives described him as a happy-go-lucky person who “brought a smile” wherever he went, according to a surveillance video.<\/p>\n
