On Monday, June 8, Apple will launch a virtual presentation announcing all of its big software features for the next year. until the company shuts it down Big Surprisingly, we’re moving into the “27” era, which will include iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and VisionOS 27. That’s a lot of updates.

The company keeps things very close to the vest, which means we don’t In fact Know what will be revealed next week. However, there are plenty of leaks and rumors (believable, mind you) that paint a fairly detailed picture of what WWDC 2026 will look like. Spoiler: expect lots of AI.

WWDC 2026: AI Siri is finally here

The new feature the tech world hopes Apple will announce this year is actually something Apple already announced a few years ago: a new Siri, upgraded with AI. Apple originally unveiled this souped-up Siri during WWDC 2024, intending to release it with iOS 18. While the company did indeed include some AI features in iOS 18, dubbed “Apple Intelligence,” AI-powered Siri has been MIA for two years. There’s even been a class action lawsuit about it.

Although it might seem a bit foolish to put stock in the debut of a new Siri, given Apple’s repeated delays, it actually seems like the upgraded assistant is coming this year. Rumor has it that Apple’s new Siri will be more contextual, meaning it will understand what’s happening on your screen to answer your questions. You’ll be able to drag down from the top of your screen at any time to pull up the new assistant, though there will also be a standalone chatbot app if you want a more dedicated AI experience. It would seem strange to have an actual Siri app on iOS for the first time, but if Apple actually upgrades the assistant in a meaningful way, it might make sense.

Additionally, the promises of an AI Siri from 2024 will still hold: Siri will reportedly be able to take actions on your behalf, like editing an image or sharing files with contacts. It should also be able to scour your various apps to find relevant information. For example, when you give a prompt like “What time does my mom’s flight arrive?” Siri should know how to tap into messages and mail to find your mom’s itinerary, flight number, and any other source that might give the context needed to answer the question. In this way, Siri on iOS 27 should feel more like using ChatGPT or Gemini. Of course, you can tap ChatGPIT instead of Siri whenever you want, and Apple is reportedly using Gemini to power some of these new features.

WWDC 2026: iOS 27

The focus of Apple’s iOS 27 event will likely be on AI Siri, but that doesn’t mean the iPhone will miss out on other new features. To keep some of the focus on AI, Apple will likely update Apple Intelligence with new features and capabilities. Bloomberg report Apple is planning several natural language-based upgrades that will let you tell iOS what you want to see, so the AI can run actions on your behalf. It will work with creating wallpapers, creating shortcuts and editing photos.

Speaking of photos, the Photos app is getting two new AI-powered tools: “Reframe” and “Extend.” The first can adjust the framing of the photo, while the second can enhance it with AI-generated imagery. The company is also making small improvements to features like Image Playground and Genmoji, and may introduce a new AI web search tool similar to Perplexity or Google’s AI Mode.

Interestingly, Apple has already announced new AI accessibility features coming in iOS 27. In recent years, the company has revealed accessibility features ahead of keynotes, and this year is no different. This includes voice control with natural language, automatic subtitles on any video, and the ability to use voiceover description of your surroundings, among other new options. Although Apple hasn’t confirmed whether these features are coming with the new update, they are almost certainly coming.

iOS 27 will have a camera app More customizable than everWith a new widget system to set the app as per your preference. There will also be a new Siri Mode that can bring visual intelligence features directly into the camera app, making it more visible to users who might otherwise miss the feature. AirPods users may also get a more simplified Settings menu, although the company requires a dedicated AirPods app.

iOS 27 should look pretty similar to iOS 26, which may be disappointing for any Liquid Glass opponents. It is being said, Apple may roll out a new slider Which lets you further control the overall look of Liquid Glass, building on the options added with later versions of iOS.

Although there will be a lot of new features, you may not get as many features as in previous years. Apple may be taking iOS 27 as an opportunity to introduce more stability updates for this year, as it previously did with Mac OS X “Snow Leopard.”

What do you think so far?
<button class="ml-1 font-semibold text-brand-green underline hover:text-brand-green-700" type="button" aria-label="Comment section trigger" onclick="window.openweb.scrollToComments('01KT29QD5WX674YKC2ME1T4MYK')" x-text="hasComments ? So, I expect all of the above to apply to iPadOS 27: the new AI Siri, new AI features, and stability updates. We may get some surprise big-screen Apple features, but at this point, I expect iPadOS to look mostly like iOS.

WWDC 2026: macOS 27

Like iOS and iPadOS 27, the biggest new feature of macOS 27 will likely be AI-based. It will get the new AI Siri as well as many of the AI upgrades mentioned above. The Photos app on macOS 27 should have the same editing tools as iOS 27, and you may be able to control Liquid Glass with a slider. In fact, both OSes seem to be more in sync than ever.

That said, the big question is whether Apple will introduce any touch-based elements in macOS 27. The company is working on a touch-based MacBook, which would require the first touch-compatible version of macOS in Apple’s history. The company may show off some of these new changes at WWDC, but it may also be held off until the MacBook announcement. WWDC is not a hardware event, so Apple likely won’t reveal new computers at this time.

WWDC 2026: watchOS 27

You know the drill: Apple Watch users who upgrade to watchOS 27 will get the new AI Siri (assuming your watch supports Apple Intelligence). what is it really Meaning There’s still a lot uncertain for Apple Watch users: The experience should be very different on watchOS (you’re almost certainly not going to be editing photos with AI on a wearable), but we’ll have to see what features will be ported to the Apple Watch when WWDC starts next week.

But watchOS 27 also gets some other new features. Bloomberg report Apple’s sustainability mindset is coming to watchOS as well, but the company intends to take the opportunity to improve heart rate monitoring with this new update. How they’ll do this remains to be seen, but if Apple can upgrade my heart rate monitor without me buying a new Apple Watch, I’ll be impressed. Apple may also launch a new watch face Based on the exclusive design for the first Apple Watch Ultra.

WWDC 2026: tvOS 27

We don’t know much about the tvOS 27 update, although I assume Apple will release it Some? Siri upgrade. However, we do know of a new feature coming: In Apple’s big accessibility announcement, it shared that users will be able to adjust tvOS’s text size for the first time.

WWDC 2026: VisionOS 27

Apple Vision Pro fans can expect many of the same updates as iPhone and Mac fans. This means AI Siri, AI features (like photo editing and natural language features), and stability updates.

WWDC 2026 is almost here.
