Denmark’s system of proportional representation typically forms coalition governments, traditionally composed of several parties from a “red block” on the left or a “blue block” on the right, after several weeks of negotiations.<\/p>\n Frederickson’s outgoing three-party administration was the first to overcome political division in decades. It remains to be seen whether this election will have a repeat outcome, with Foreign Minister Lars L\u00f8kke Rasmussen’s centrist Moderate Party potentially playing the role of kingmaker.<\/p>\n Greenland, which has taken up much of the government’s energy in recent months, has not been a key issue in the campaign because there is widespread consensus on its place in the state.<\/p>\n Frederiksen warned in January that a US occupation of Greenland would be tantamount to end of nato<\/a>.
