Weber was awaiting extradition to Charles County, Maryland, where he faces formal charges, Fox Los Angeles reports.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>According to charging documents signed by a Charles County Sheriff’s Office detective, Webber was charged with first-degree murder, knowingly and with premeditated malice for killing Wells at 1015 Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall, Charles County, Maryland, on March 22, 2026. He was also charged with second-degree murder in the same incident.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/>Documents say Webber faces two counts of first-degree assault, one related to an alleged attack on someone identified as Bradwick Webber and the other related to Wells. He was also charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>According to the statement of charges filed by Det.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>The statement of charges says the witnesses, identified in charging documents as W1 and W2, told police that Webber pulled out a gun during an argument and shot Wells twice in the head. It says Webber then stopped the vehicle and asked the passengers to remove Wells from the car, which they refused.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>Documents say both witnesses got out of the vehicle and flagged down a police officer, while Webber drove away, keeping Wells inside the car. According to the filing, at approximately 12:41 a.m. March 23, a resident of 10115 Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall discovered Wells’ body on the side of the road.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>The statement of charges stated that both W1 and W2 positively identified Webber as the shooter and Wells as the victim, forming the basis for murder and assault charges pending in Charles County District Court.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>Police said Webber’s vehicle was later found in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Webber was taken to a hospital for treatment.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>Police did not say how Weber was able to drive the car or wield the weapon.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>“The investigation is early, but there is no evidence that anyone else was involved in the shooting and that he acted alone,” Dianne Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Videos posted on social media showed Weber shooting a rifle and a 9mm handgun.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>According to reports, Webber had to undergo four amputations following blood transfusions as a child, and was a professional cornhole player in the American Cornhole League (ACL). ACL has been on ESPN since 2016.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/>“That’s one of the great things about our sport, how accessible it is, and how we want to say anyone can play, anyone can win, because if you’re willing to put your mind to it, you’re willing to put in the time to practice, you can be competitive,” ACL commissioner Stacey Moore told Fox News Digital earlier this month. Moore was pushing to make cornhole a sport in the Olympics.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"37\"\/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Dayton James Weber, 27, of La Plata, Maryland, a professional cornhole player and amputee with four legs, was formally charged with murder and related crimes in connection with a fatal shooting in Charles County on March 22, 2026, according to court documents.Documents say Webber was arrested in Charlottesville, Virginia, after police arrested him in the<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":18152,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[56],"tags":[8722,159,8724,8723,8462,998,977,160,8119,2116,6839,8463,8725],"class_list":{"0":"post-18151","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bible-news","8":"tag-amputee","9":"tag-arrested","10":"tag-bradrick","11":"tag-cornhole","12":"tag-dayton","13":"tag-james","14":"tag-michael","15":"tag-murder","16":"tag-quadruple","17":"tag-star","18":"tag-suspicion","19":"tag-weber","20":"tag-wells"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18151","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=18151"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18151\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":18153,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18151\/revisions\/18153"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/18152"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18151"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=18151"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/christiancorner.us\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=18151"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
