Article by Dr. Raghuram YS MD(AYU) and Dr. Manasa S, BAMS<\/b><\/p>\n \u2013<\/span> <\/span>Acharya Sushruta has described the treatment of Sannipataj fever in Chapter 39 of Uttar Tantra – Fever Prevention Chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013<\/span> <\/span>The same treatment principles and formulations are good in the treatment of typhus and other types of typhus such as typhoid fever.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013<\/span> <\/span>Kshirpak prepared from Vrischiva, Bilva and Varshbhu or Shimshipa Sara is beneficial in the treatment of typhoid fevers. Similarly, Triphala astringent should be given mixed with ghee.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013<\/span> <\/span>Deepana, Virechana and Jwarhara medicines should be used alone or in combination.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013<\/span> <\/span>Leh \u2013 prepared from Ghrit, Madya, Abhay and oil \u2013 cures Tridoshaj fevers. Similarly, consuming Trivrit mixed with honey is very beneficial.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Sannipataja fever means fever caused by the simultaneous aggravation of all three doshas \u2013 Vata, Pitta and Kapha.<\/span><\/p>\n Acharya Sushruta has described the treatment principles of Sannipataja fever in Chapter 39 of Uttara Tantra section and has also given details of some useful yogas to deal with this condition. These treatment principles and formulations will be used in the treatment of all types of typhoid fever conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n 20. In the treatment of fever caused due to simultaneous aggravation of all the doshas i.e. typhoid fever, a mixture of herbs suitable according to the doshas should be given. These fevers will be treated in priority to the aggravated defects.<\/span><\/p>\n Vrischikadi Kshirpaka<\/strong> – Vrischiva, Bilva and Varshabhu are boiled with milk and water and reduced to the quantity of milk only i.e. until all the water evaporates and only milk remains. This recipe will cure fever arising from all the doshas. (U.S.N.39\/202)<\/span><\/p>\n Shimshipa Ksheerpaka<\/strong> – Three parts of water are boiled with one part of milk and Shimshipa Sara \u2013 the marrow of the Simshipa tree and its Ksheerpak is prepared. By taking this remedy all types of fever can be cured. (U.S.N.39\/203)<\/span><\/p>\n Nal-Vetasadi Kashaya<\/strong> All types of fevers can be cured by preparing the decoction of roots of tap and vetasa along with Murva and Devdaru in the prescribed manner. (U.S.N.39\/204)<\/span><\/p>\n Haridradi Kashaya<\/strong> Typhus fever is cured by consuming the decoction of Haridra, Bhadramusta, Triphala, Katurohini, Pichumanda, Patoli, Triphala, Devdaru and Nidigdhika. (U.S.N.39\/205-206)<\/span><\/p>\n Triphala Kashaya<\/strong> Drinking Triphala decoction mixed with ghee cures fever caused by all three doshas. It will also cure improper digestion, excessive salivation, bloating, cough and loss of taste (related to tides). (U.S.N.39\/206)<\/span><\/p>\n Anantadi Churnam<\/strong> \u2013 Powder of Ananta, Valaka, Musta, Nagara and Katurohini should be prepared. It should be used before sunrise with water in the quantity of 1 Karsha (10 grams). This recipe will cure all types of fever and increase digestive fire\/power.
