Piers Morgan insults Anderson Cooper: ‘Poisonous little backstabber’ <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nBritish presenter turned podcaster Piers Morgan has launched the latest attack on former CNN colleague Anderson Cooper amid long-running tensions between the journalists.<\/p>\n
Morgan made the comments on a recent episode of Megyn Kelly’s podcast while criticizing CNN and Cooper’s new “podcast set” experiments.<\/p>\n
Morgan, who like Kelly transitioned from broadcast TV news hosting to podcasting, suggested that the network would fail due to a lack of audience connection. <\/p>\n
He said of CNN’s change in aesthetics, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. They’re trying to look like us.”<\/p>\n
Morgan labeled the network’s new content “cringe” and “desperate” and called their behavior “completely obtuse.”<\/p>\n
Morgan quipped, “Anderson Cooper never expresses any opinions worth listening to, but that’s why people turn to us. No one is controlling us, we just say what we believe at the time \u2013 clear, honest, opinions.”<\/p>\n
He added, “When we had our little outrage about Bad Bunny, 42 million people watched one of those clips of me and you. Anderson Cooper can roll up his sleeves and take off all his clothes, but he won’t get those kinds of numbers!”<\/p>\n
The rivalry between the two presenters primarily centers around Morgan’s claim that his CNN show, Piers Morgan Live, was canceled in 2014 because of Cooper’s ratings.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
