More deadly asbestos has been found in children’s toys filled with sand after a number of products were recalled in the UK. <\/p>\n

The toxic discovery has left parents horrified across the United Kingdom, and now families in Europe are facing similar warnings. <\/p>\n

Asbestos is a banned substance that poses a risk Health<\/span> Even at low levels of exposure. <\/p>\n

Often found in old insulation and fire-resistant materials, it is now known to cause fatal lung disease and cancer when inhaled.<\/p>\n

The growing number of children’s toys and craft products being recalled by manufacturers and distributors has sparked urgent inquiries.<\/p>\n

‘New Asbestos’<\/p>\n

European Parliament<\/span> seeking answers from European Commission<\/span> Regarding toxic fibers found in “imported children’s play sand”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The priority question refers to recent reports that children’s play sand in the EU imported from China contains asbestos.<\/p>\n

It reads, “Asbestos has long been banned in the European Union due to its carcinogenic effects.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that such a dangerous substance was found in a product specifically intended for children raises serious questions about the effectiveness of import controls and EU market surveillance.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the Netherlands, possibly traces of asbestos have been found in joeppiewingel.nl’s AP2600 Sand Tub Yellow 1 kg (Anthony Peters), sold between 2022 and 2026.<\/p>\n

A sand-filled stress monster from Kidero Group, which was sold between September 26, 2025 and March 17, 2026, has also been identified as potentially dangerous.<\/p>\n

Kidero Group and Anthony Peters were contacted for comment.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) warned parents: “Do not use this product.”<\/p>\n

Buyers of the toys are advised to return them or take them to a recycling center. <\/p>\n

Both companies promise to refund the purchase price, d telegraph<\/a> Informed.<\/p>\n

It follows the immediate recall of several toys sold in the UK due to asbestos concerns.<\/p>\n

    Office<\/span> The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OfSS) has advised parents to ensure their children “immediately stop using the product”.<\/p>\n

    To safely remove the toy, place it in a heavy-duty plastic bag and double tape it securely.<\/p>\n

    Be sure to clearly label the bag and keep it in a safe place out of the reach of children.<\/p>\n

    And if the toy has been damaged, making the sand inside accessible, be sure to clean the areas where the product was used with a damp cloth to avoid dust generation.<\/p>\n

    You should wear gloves and a mask during this process and double bag them with the sand and cloth.<\/p>\n

    Children and other people in the home should be kept away from areas where sand has been used until the area is cleaned.<\/p>\n

    You may dispose of the product in your normal household waste, or return it to the store indicated by the retailer, who will provide a full refund.<\/p>\n

    In November last year, laboratory testing revealed that asbestos was present in sand products sold across the country Australia<\/span> And New Zealand.<\/p>\n

    Sand imported from China was designed for children to play with and use in schools and nurseries, yet when tested it was found to contain dangerous asbestos. <\/p>\n

    Dozens of schools and nurseries had to be closed after a deadly substance was found in children’s playing sand. <\/p>\n
