Her father, Geronimo Castillo, had tried to block the process with the support of a conservative legal group.<\/p>\n

But the courts rejected the challenge.<\/p>\n

Noelia’s case was eventually approved after a lengthy legal battle, with judges ruling that her decision was “free, conscious and informed”.<\/p>\n

His mother, while not supporting euthanasia, remained with him until the end.<\/p>\n

In her final message, she told her daughter: “There’s nothing else I can do. If you decide to move on, I’ll be there for you, but if you change your mind, I’ll be there for the good times, too.”<\/p>\n
