The daughter of a flight attendant who fell hundreds of feet during a horrific plane crash has revealed a vital update on her mother’s condition as she continues to recover in hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
On Sunday March 22, an Air Canada Express plane collided with a fire engine at LaGuardia Airport, killing both pilots and sending senior flight attendant Solange Tremblay 320 feet into the air.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Solange was still strapped to her seat when she was pulled from the wreckage and was later found on the road.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
He suffered serious injuries, including two broken legs and a fractured spine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Her daughter, Sarah LePine, started a GoFundMe campaign and revealed that her mother required multiple surgical procedures involving metal plates to reconstruct the damage to her legs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Sarah said: \u201cShe has a fractured spine where she is waiting and seeing if surgery is required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cIn addition, he requires skin grafts to repair the flesh he lost in his legs while sliding on the tarmac.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“He also had to have a blood transfusion due to complications from his first surgery.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
She further revealed that Solange is in a hospital in New York, where she ‘remains in constant fear’ of further complications.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The dedicated flight attendant faces a difficult rehabilitation process as she learns to walk again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Her daughter wrote: “My mother dedicated her entire life as a flight attendant, and was very proud of her work. She loved serving the public and helping them travel safely to their respective destinations.” The fundraising page has garnered over $160,000 in donations so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Photographs taken at the scene showed that the fire engine was completely destroyed, while the front section of the aircraft was torn off.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
There were 72 passengers and four crew members on board the plane. Aviation experts warned that if the collision had involved the aircraft’s fuel stores the consequences could have been catastrophic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In the wake of the accident, the US National Transportation Safety Board has launched a full-scale investigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
