The Lord supernaturally gave Elisha the plans the king was implementing, and in return, Elisha warned Israel of each intended attack. The king could not understand why his plans were continuously failing. It seemed that there was a secret informer in his midst. When he was told that the God of Israel was to blame for this inside information, he became angry. The king decided that the only way to get rid of the problem was to kill Elisha.<\/p>\n<p>The king&#8217;s army arrived and surrounded Elisha and his servant. When Elisha did not get upset, Elisha&#8217;s servant became upset and frightened. Elisha immediately prayed that his servant&#8217;s eyes would be opened and they would see that there was no need to be afraid, for the angels were protecting them.<\/p>\n<p>And Elisha prayed, &#8220;Lord, open his eyes so he can see.&#8221; Then the Lord opened the servant&#8217;s eyes, and he looked and saw hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. As the enemies advanced toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, \u201cStrike these people with blindness.\u201d So he blinded them as Elisha had ordered (2 Kings 6:17-18).<\/p>\n<p>Who is Elisha in your life? Do you have a mentor friend who can see God&#8217;s activity in your life when you can&#8217;t? We all need someone we can trust to help us see God&#8217;s activity. It is often difficult for us to see what God is really doing because we are so affected by the circumstances of the moment.
