Nvidia CEO says AI won’t replace jobs, it will evolve them<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nFears of AI-driven job losses are rising, but Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang says employees may be worrying about the wrong thing. Speaking on the Lex Friedman Podcast, he emphasized that artificial intelligence is more likely to reshape jobs than replace them.<\/p>\n
Huang identified radiology as an important demonstration. Early predictions suggest that radiologists will be among the first roles automated by AI. The number of radiologists has increased as AI now powers almost all radiology systems. <\/p>\n
Doctors use AI tools to make faster diagnoses which allows them to treat more patients. Demand for skilled professionals will increase as AI tools help doctors diagnose patients. <\/p>\n
Will AI replace jobs?<\/h2>\n
Huang believes that people who work in hazardous forecasting areas fail to enter the profession because they fear the predicted hazards, resulting in a shortage of skilled workers.<\/p>\n
Nvidia has been under Huang’s leadership since he began working for the company three decades ago. He explained to the audience at the Milken Institute Global Conference that people will not lose their jobs because of AI technology, but they will face competition from others using AI technology. <\/p>\n
He believed that employees who embrace AI technologies will be successful while employees who refuse to adopt new methods will experience failure. <\/p>\n
Other leaders also share this view. Brian Chesky described AI as “the best thing that ever happened” to his business, while Jamie Dimon acknowledged that AI would eliminate jobs, but stressed the need to keep pace with new technologies.<\/p>\n
Huang concluded that there is more potential for AI to replace the way humans work than to completely replace them, especially if humans are involved in judgment, decision making, and human insight. The key, he said, “is to embrace the technology to evolve with it.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
