(Worthy News) \u2013 U.S. President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Pam Bondi will step down as U.S. Attorney General, marking a significant leadership change at the Justice Department.<\/p>\n

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump praised Bondy as “a great American patriot and a loyal friend,” while confirming that his deputy, Todd Blanche, will serve as acting attorney general during the transition.<\/p>\n

“Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown on crime across our country,” Trump said. He said the murder rate has fallen to historic lows during his tenure.<\/p>\n

Bondy, who was confirmed by the Senate in early 2025, said she will assist with the transition in the coming weeks before moving into a new private sector role, which will be announced soon. She emphasized that she will continue to support the administration’s agenda in her next position.<\/p>\n

While leading the Justice Department, Bondy highlighted major law enforcement accomplishments, including aggressive action against violent crime, gang networks, and cartel operations. He also pointed to several favorable Supreme Court decisions and efforts to restore public confidence in federal law enforcement.<\/p>\n

However, his tenure was not without controversy. Bondi faced bipartisan criticism over her handling and release of documents related to late financier Jeffrey Epstein. He defended the process, saying that the administration prioritized transparency while managing large amounts of records under tight deadlines.<\/p>\n

Blanche expressed her gratitude for Bondi’s leadership in stepping into the acting role and promised continuity.<\/p>\n

“We will continue to support the blue, enforce the law, and do everything in our power to keep America safe,” he said.<\/p>\n

The leadership change comes as the administration continues to emphasize law-and-order priorities and comprehensive justice system reforms.<\/p>\n
