SRH left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma has been fined his match fee as well as given one demerit point after objecting to a dubious catch taken by KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy in the square-leg area.<\/p>\n

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, but Abhishek Sharma had to pay a heavy price for not trusting the umpires’ decision. When the dynamic left-handed opener was closing in on his 10th IPL half-century, he launched a run towards the square leg boundary and the KKR spinner had it caught near the ropes.<\/p>\n

However, Abhishek, along with the umpires, showed sheer disbelief in the matter, and raised doubts as to whether the catch was successfully completed or not. The third umpire reviewed the catch from different angles and declared Abhishek out. However, the SRH batsman was still in disbelief.<\/p>\n

Abhishek Sharma has been fined big for his misconduct against KKR<\/h2>\n

The dynamic batsman was out for 48, which he made off just 21 balls, and along with fellow opener Travis Head, he gave his team a great start with a powerful total in the powerplay.<\/p>\n

However, after that controversial catch, he stuck to his guns and refused to leave. Even after the words OUT echoed on the big screen, the batsman slowly walked towards the dugout, not completely agreeing with the decision. However, the angles clearly showed that Varun’s fingers were under the ball when he moved forward to take that catch.<\/p>\n

Abhishek has been fined 25% of his match fee and given one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct under Article 2.3.<\/p>\n
