A top CEO has died in a horrific accident during a family vacation that also injured his 11-year-old son.<\/p>\n

Tributes have been paid to Casey Gourley, 41, who died after being hit by an open-air tourist transportation<\/span> Truck accident in Tola nicaragua<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The mother of three was the co-founder <\/span><\/span>Ox Insights, a St. Louis-based marketing consulting firm.<\/p>\n

According to a family fundraiser, his eldest son Julian was seriously injured in the accident and was flown back to the United States.<\/p>\n

His family shared that he suffered head injuries, a skull fracture and a spinal fracture, as well as a collapsed lung.<\/p>\n

Grelle was one of about 30 people \u2014 including children \u2014 killed when the tour truck lost control inside the Rancho Santana Resort on March 23, according to local media reports.<\/p>\n

Her brother Andy Joyce shared the sad news on Facebook, remembering his sister as “one of the most talented, driven and selfless people I have ever met.”<\/p>\n

“She was tireless in everything she did, especially when it came to helping people.”<\/p>\n

Gourley is survived by her husband, Dave, and their three young children \u2013 Julian, 11; Kit, 9; And country, 6.<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe crowdfunding effort started to benefit the children has raised more than $302,000 as of Saturday \u2014 far exceeding the initial $250,000 goal.<\/p>\n
